Williamsburg

Today we explored Colonial Williamsburg for the day, and we had a wonderful time.
We walked around the town and toured homes, saw basket weavers, black smiths and heard interesting speakers, George Washington and Patrick Henry, who were in character of the time period when they lived.  We really got a sense of the self sacrifice that was needed and given by our early founders.

Lunch at The Cheese Shop of wine, cheese and french bread.
Folks in character having a heated discussion.

A messenger alerting Williamsburg that shots were fired in Lexington and Concord and 6 New Englanders were killed.

The firing of a canon at the end of the day.

Patrick Henry gave an impassioned speech about the importance of the colonists striving for independence from the King.
