In Lynchburg with the Rinkers

We had the joy of spending 3 days with Tom's cousin Sylvia and her husband Jim in Lynchburg, Virginia.  The drive there was beautiful as we crossed the Blue Ridge Mountains. We seem to be just ahead of the changing colors as we progress on our trip.

We took in some southern culture at "Grandma Bee's Country Kitchen" for lunch on our way to Appomatax Court House National Park.  Jim had Catfish!!!

Tom, Sylvia and Jim outside Appomatax where a map is showing the buildings for tour.

Here we are a Jim and Sylvia's house with their daughter Julie and her son Ethan.

Men of all generations love to see the engine of Mr Rockt!!!  Tom, Jim, Joseph

This is a pretty fountain at a nature walk near their home.  We went walking there several times, so pretty!

On the way to the Rinkers we stopped at Chambersburg and toured the town. The town had men that served in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars.
This northern boy is in the town center looking south for invading Confederates. Confederates burned the rail yards in one raid and most of the town in another one.

Fall Colors

The town started with Chambers mill powered by this water wheel.

This is where John Brown stayed and met Fredrick Douglas
